Exceptional value for solid wood
As a teacher, I recommend the CG122MC to all my intermediate students. Finding a full solid wood guitar at this price point from a reputable brand like Yamaha is rare. The sustain is impressive.

Great sound, needs setup
The tone is beautiful and very balanced across all strings. However, the strings it came with were a bit stiff. After changing to a premium set and doing a minor setup, it plays like a dream.

Solid choice for classical repertoire
Very clear trebles and deep basses. It handles complex fingerstyle pieces without any buzzing. Only giving 4 stars because the case was sold separately, but the guitar itself is a 5-star instrument.

Upgrade from laminate was worth it
