Good size for small children
The 26-inch scale is ideal for younger kids who struggle with full-sized guitars. My only wish is that it came with a gig bag included, but otherwise, it's a wonderful product.

Sturdy and sounds great
We've had this guitar for six months now, and it has held up perfectly despite being carried around to lessons weekly. The tone is warm and clear, making practice enjoyable for my son.

Best gift for New Year
Bought this as a New Year gift for my niece. She was thrilled! It's lightweight enough for her to hold comfortably, and the build quality feels very solid. A fantastic starter instrument.

Yamaha never disappoints
This is our second Yamaha guitar, and like the first, it exceeds expectations. The intonation is accurate up the neck, and the finish is beautiful. Perfect for any child eager to learn music.

Great value, minor setup needed
Excellent little guitar for the price. It arrived slightly out of tune and the action was a bit high, but after a quick setup at our local shop, it plays beautifully. Highly recommend for kids starting out.

Perfect first guitar for my daughter
I bought this for my 7-year-old's birthday and she absolutely loves it. The size is just right for her small hands, and the sound is surprisingly good for a beginner instrument. Yamaha quality really shows.
Q: Does this model have electronics built-in for amplification?
A: No, the Yamaha GL1 is a purely acoustic classical guitar and does not include built-in pickups or electronics. It relies solely on its natural acoustic projection.
Q: Can adults use this guitar for travel?
A: While designed for children, some adults do use the GL1 as a compact travel guitar due to its small size. However, the neck width and scale length may feel cramped for larger hands.
Q: Are the strings nylon or steel?
A: This is a classical guitar, so it comes strung with nylon strings. This makes it much gentler on beginners' fingertips compared to steel-string acoustic guitars.
Q: What is the exact age range this guitar is suitable for?
A: The GL1 is designed primarily for children aged 5 to 9 years old, or anyone with smaller hands who finds a full-size classical guitar too large to handle comfortably.
Q: Does this guitar come with a case or gig bag?
A: No, the Yamaha GL1 is sold as the guitar only. We recommend purchasing a compatible 1/2 size classical guitar gig bag separately for protection and transport.
