Excellent thermal performance
Maintains temperature very well even during long prints. Much better than the generic cheap blocks I bought previously.

Great for beginners upgrading
Easy to swap out if you follow a tutorial video. The holes for the thermistor and heater cartridge are perfectly sized.

Good quality, minor cleaning needed
The aluminum quality is solid. I had to clean out some machining residue from the nozzle hole before installation, but otherwise, it works great.

Perfect fit for my MK8 upgrade
This heating block replaced my old worn-out one perfectly. The threading is precise and it heated up evenly during my first test print with PLA.

Solid construction
Heavy duty aluminum. Fits standard M6 nozzles without any gaps. Deducting one star only because the screws included were slightly soft.

Saved my printer
My old block cracked after a heat creep incident. This replacement was easy to install and got me back printing within an hour.
Q: What size heater cartridge does this accept?
A: It accepts standard 40W heater cartridges with a 6mm diameter, commonly used in RepRap and Makerbot style printers.
Q: Can I use this for printing ABS?
A: Yes, the aluminum block can withstand temperatures required for ABS (typically 230-250°C), provided your heater cartridge and thermistor are rated for those temps.
Q: How do I remove a stripped nozzle from this block?
A: Heat the block to about 200°C to soften any plastic residue, then use a proper nozzle removal wrench. Do not force it while cold to avoid damaging the threads.
Q: Does it come with a thermal paste?
A: No, thermal paste is not included in the package. We recommend applying a small amount of high-temperature thermal paste to the heater cartridge and thermistor for best results.
Q: Is this compatible with E3D V6 hotends?
A: No, this block is specifically designed for Makerbot MK7 and MK8 style extruders. The mounting hole pattern differs from E3D V6 systems.
