Great for beginners upgrading

Good quality, minor cleaning needed

The aluminum quality is solid. I had to clean out some machining residue from the nozzle hole before installation, but otherwise, it works great.

Solid construction

Q: What size heater cartridge does this accept?

A: It accepts standard 40W heater cartridges with a 6mm diameter, commonly used in RepRap and Makerbot style printers.

Q: Can I use this for printing ABS?

A: Yes, the aluminum block can withstand temperatures required for ABS (typically 230-250°C), provided your heater cartridge and thermistor are rated for those temps.

Q: How do I remove a stripped nozzle from this block?

A: Heat the block to about 200°C to soften any plastic residue, then use a proper nozzle removal wrench. Do not force it while cold to avoid damaging the threads.

Q: Does it come with a thermal paste?

A: No, thermal paste is not included in the package. We recommend applying a small amount of high-temperature thermal paste to the heater cartridge and thermistor for best results.

Q: Is this compatible with E3D V6 hotends?

A: No, this block is specifically designed for Makerbot MK7 and MK8 style extruders. The mounting hole pattern differs from E3D V6 systems.
