Good value but needs logic level shifter
Great little module for the price. Just remember that the RX pin is 3.3V logic, so if you are using a 5V board like the standard Arduino Uno, you need a voltage divider or level shifter to avoid damaging the chip.

Perfect for Arduino projects
This module worked straight out of the box. I connected it to my Arduino Uno and paired it with my Android phone within minutes. The serial communication is stable and the range is decent for indoor use.

Easy to configure
I used AT commands to change the baud rate and device name. It was very straightforward. Documentation online is plentiful which helped me get started quickly.

Reliable wireless UART
I've integrated three of these into different home automation sensors. They maintain connection reliably and the transparent transmission makes coding the microcontroller side very simple.

Great for learning Bluetooth
Bought this for my son's science project. It was easy enough for him to set up with some guidance. The LED blinking patterns help indicate connection status clearly.

Works well but limited to Slave mode
The module functions exactly as described, but keep in mind this is the HC-06 Slave version. It cannot initiate connections or pair with other slaves. If you need Master/Slave switching, look for the HC-05 instead.
Q: What is the default password for pairing?
A: The default PIN code for pairing is usually '1234' or '0000'. You can change this using AT commands if your firmware supports it.
Q: Can this module connect to an iPhone?
A: Generally, no. The HC-06 uses Classic Bluetooth (SPP profile) which is typically supported by Android devices. iPhones usually require Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) modules like the HM-10 for similar functionality.
Q: Is the TX/RX voltage 3.3V or 5V?
A: The logic level for the UART interface is 3.3V. While the VCC input can accept up to 6V, the data pins are not 5V tolerant. Use a voltage divider when connecting to 5V microcontrollers.
Q: How do I enter AT command mode?
A: To enter AT mode, ensure the module is not connected to any device. Power it up, and it should automatically be in AT mode at the default baud rate (often 9600). Some versions require holding the KEY pin high during power-up.
