Perfect for Professional Gigs
I use this Minyin 402 for wedding performances and small concerts. The projection is loud enough to fill a medium hall without amplification. The action is smooth and responsive.

Great Upgrade from Student Model
Upgraded from a basic plywood yangqin to this Chicken Wing wood model. The difference in tonal clarity is night and day. The bridges were pre-aligned perfectly, saving me hours of setup time.

Solid Choice for Beginners
Bought this for my daughter who is just starting. It might be slightly advanced for a total novice, but it will grow with her skills. The included case is sturdy and protects the instrument well during transport.

Superb Resonance and Clarity
The harmonic richness of this instrument is outstanding. Whether playing traditional folk songs or modern compositions, the tone remains clear and bell-like across all registers. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Beautiful Craftsmanship
The Pearwood finish is stunning and the build quality feels very solid. It took a little while to get the tuning stable as the strings stretched, but now it holds pitch well. A great instrument for intermediate learners.

Exceptional Tone for the Price
I purchased the Rosewood version for my conservatory studies. The resonance is incredible, and the sustain on the lower notes is much better than my previous student model. Highly recommended for serious players.
Q: Does this come with a stand or do I need to buy one separately?
A: The Minyin 402 package includes the instrument, mallets, tuning tools, and a hard carrying case. A folding wooden stand is sold separately to ensure you can choose the height that best fits your playing style.
Q: What is the difference between the Rosewood and Pearwood versions?
A: Rosewood typically offers a deeper, warmer, and more resonant tone with longer sustain, making it a favorite for solo performances. Pearwood provides a brighter, clearer sound with a slightly faster attack, which works beautifully for ensemble playing.
Q: Is this instrument suitable for a complete beginner with no prior experience?
A: Yes, while it is a professional-grade instrument, many beginners choose it to avoid upgrading later. However, we recommend having a teacher help with the initial setup and tuning, as the 402 bridge system is more complex than smaller student models.
Q: Can I replace the strings with a different gauge if I prefer?
A: We strongly recommend using the standard gauge strings designed for the Minyin 402 model to maintain proper tension and tone. Using non-standard gauges can affect the structural integrity of the soundboard and void the warranty.
Q: How often does the Yangqin need to be tuned?
A: Like all string instruments, it requires tuning before every practice session. New strings may stretch and require frequent tuning for the first two weeks. After that, it should hold stability well under normal temperature and humidity conditions.
