Great value, minor setup needed

The sound quality is excellent once you spend time adjusting the bridges. The basswood body provides a warm resonance. It arrived well-packaged, though I recommend getting a professional setup if you are new to the Yangqin.

Solid instrument for the price

I was hesitant about buying online, but this 402 model exceeded expectations. The mallets included are decent quality. The only reason for 4 stars is that the case could be slightly more padded for travel.

Q: What type of mallets are included in the box?

A: We include a pair of traditional bamboo mallets with rubber tips, which are ideal for producing the classic bright and percussive Yangqin sound suitable for most repertoire.

Q: How sensitive is the wood to humidity changes?

A: Like all wooden instruments, the rosewood and basswood components are sensitive to extreme humidity. We recommend storing it in a room with 40-60% relative humidity and using a dehumidifier or humidifier as necessary.

Q: Is this instrument pre-tuned or do I need to tune it from scratch?

A: The Yangqin is factory-tuned to standard pitch before shipping. However, due to changes in humidity and temperature during transit, we recommend fine-tuning it upon arrival using the included wrench.

Q: Does this come with a hard case or a soft bag?

A: This model comes with a high-quality padded soft case designed for protection during transport. A hard shell case can be purchased separately if needed.
