Beautiful craftsmanship, heavy item
The drum is stunning and the buffalo hide is thick and durable. Just be aware that it is quite heavy due to the solid wood construction. You will definitely need two people to move it around.

Authentic and powerful

Exceeded expectations

Great value for a hand-made drum
Compared to other large gong drums on the market, this offers excellent value. The wood grain is beautiful. I deducted one star only because the instructions for care were minimal, but overall very satisfied.
Q: How do I maintain the unfinished wood surface?
A: Since the wood is unfinished, we recommend applying a light coat of natural beeswax or tung oil every few months to protect it from humidity changes and keep the wood nourished.
Q: What type of mallets work best with this drum?
A: For the deepest bass sound, use large, soft-headed mallets with wool or felt covers. Harder mallets will produce a sharper attack but may reduce the sustained resonance characteristic of this drum.
Q: Can this drum be used outdoors?
A: While it can be used outdoors for events, it should not be left exposed to rain or direct sunlight for extended periods. Extreme weather can warp the wood and loosen the hide tension.
