Beautiful addition to my tea station
This purple pottery washer is stunning. The deep color contrasts perfectly with my lighter tea trays. It feels substantial and well-made, not flimsy at all.

Great capacity, slightly heavy
Holds a lot of waste water which is great for long brewing sessions. It is heavier than I expected, but that speaks to the quality of the clay.

Authentic Jianshui quality
As someone who collects Yunnan pottery, this is the real deal. The texture is smooth yet porous enough to breathe. Perfect for rinsing brushes.

Perfect size for Kung Fu Tea
Fits perfectly next to my gaiwan and pitcher. The wide mouth makes it easy to dump out water without spilling. Highly recommend for serious tea drinkers.

Lovely natural variations
Each piece seems unique due to the firing process. Mine has some lovely lighter speckles. Just remember to season it before first use like any unglazed clay.
Q: Is this pot glazed or unglazed?
A: This tea washer is made from traditional Jianshui purple clay and is unglazed to maintain the natural breathability of the material.
Q: Can I use soap to clean this item?
A: No, we recommend rinsing with warm water only. Soap can clog the pores of the unglazed clay and affect the taste of future tea sessions.
Q: Is the color consistent across all units?
A: While the base color is deep purple, natural variations occur due to the hand-crafting and firing process, making each piece slightly unique.
Q: What is the maximum water capacity?
A: The bowl holds approximately 1.2 liters of water, which is sufficient for several rounds of Gongfu tea brewing before needing to be emptied.
Q: Does it come with a draining hole?
A: No, this is a solid bowl designed to collect waste water manually. You will need to pour the water out into a sink or larger bucket when full.
