Authentic Su Gong sound
As a percussionist specializing in Chinese opera instruments, I can confirm this has an authentic timbre. It lacks the long wash of a Chau gong, which is exactly what you want for a Su Gong. The attack is immediate and crisp. Highly recommended for traditional ensembles.

Solid instrument, basic mallet
The gong itself is wonderful—great projection and clear tone. The included mallet is functional but a bit light for heavy playing. I ended up buying a heavier beater separately. If you are a serious player, plan to upgrade the striker, but the gong itself is top-notch.

Beautiful craftsmanship
Visually stunning and sonically impressive. The black rim contrasts nicely with the gold face. It was easy to mount using standard gong stand hardware. We use it in our community band for special effects, and it always gets compliments.

Perfect for my theater group
We needed a reliable Su Gong for our upcoming production, and this Xinbao model delivered exactly what we needed. The sound is bright and cuts through the orchestra perfectly without being too harsh. The included mallet is decent quality, though we also use our own custom beaters.

Great value for the size
For a 30cm gong, the price point is excellent. The finish is beautiful and looks very professional on stage. I deducted one star because the suspension holes were slightly uneven, requiring a bit of adjustment to hang it straight, but once set up, it sounds fantastic.
