Best investment for my sewing business
Fast, precise, and sturdy. The desktop design saves space without compromising on performance. Customer support was also very helpful during the initial setup.

Solid performance
Very happy with the purchase. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the manual could be more detailed for beginners, but the machine itself operates flawlessly.

Great machine, minor learning curve
The build quality is excellent as expected from JUKI. It took me a day to get used to the foot pedal sensitivity, but once adjusted, it sews beautifully. Highly recommend for serious hobbyists.

Industrial power in a desktop size
I was skeptical about the size, but this 9197ME handles thick denim and canvas effortlessly. The speed control is very responsive, which is great for detailed work.

Perfect upgrade for my home studio
This machine is incredibly smooth and quiet. The direct drive motor makes a huge difference compared to my old belt-driven unit. Setup was straightforward, and the lockstitch quality is professional grade.
Q: Can it sew through multiple layers of leather?
A: The 9197ME is capable of handling medium-weight leather and multiple layers of heavy fabric like denim or canvas. For very thick industrial leather, we recommend checking the specific thickness limits in the manual.
Q: Does this machine come with a table stand?
A: Yes, the 9197ME includes a compact desktop table specifically designed for this model. It is ready to use right out of the box.
Q: Is the voltage compatible with US outlets?
A: Absolutely. This model features an auto-switching power supply that works with both 110V and 220V systems, making it suitable for use in the US and many other regions.
Q: How often does the auto-oiling system need refilling?
A: Under normal daily usage, the oil reservoir typically needs refilling every 3 to 6 months. The machine has a sight glass to easily monitor oil levels.
Q: What type of needles are required for this model?
A: The JUKI 9197ME uses standard DBx1 system needles, which are widely available at most sewing supply stores and online retailers.
