Exceeded expectations
Very sensitive and accurate. I used it in a model train setup to detect station arrival, and it hasn't missed a beat in weeks of operation.

Easy to use
Plug and play with standard microcontrollers. The documentation online is helpful. Deducting one star because the solder pads are slightly small.

Good value, works as expected
Solid build quality. The magnet included is strong enough to trigger the switch reliably from about 1cm away. Only wish the cable was a bit longer.

Reliable and compact
We bought ten of these for our robotics workshop. They integrate seamlessly with Arduino boards and have held up well under student use.

Perfect for security projects
Used this for a DIY door alarm system. The detection range is consistent and the LED indicator makes debugging very easy. Highly recommended for beginners.
Q: Does this module work with 3.3V logic levels?
A: Yes, the module operates comfortably within the 3.3V to 5V DC range, making it compatible with both 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers.
Q: Does the package include connecting wires?
A: No, the package includes the module, the magnet, and mounting screws. You will need to solder your own wires or use a compatible jumper cable harness separately.
Q: What is the maximum current the output pin can handle?
A: The digital output pin is designed for signal logic and should not source more than 20mA. It is intended to connect directly to a microcontroller GPIO pin.
Q: Is the magnet polarity important for operation?
A: Yes, reed switches are polarity-sensitive. Typically, one side of the magnet will trigger the switch while the other will not. You may need to flip the magnet if it doesn't activate initially.
Q: Can I use this outdoors?
A: The PCB itself is not waterproof. For outdoor use, we recommend placing the module inside a weatherproof enclosure or applying a conformal coating.
