Perfect for robotics projects
This sensor module is incredibly easy to integrate with my Arduino robot. The fusion algorithm works out of the box, providing stable orientation data without needing complex calibration code from scratch.

Best value 9-axis sensor
I have tried several IMUs, and the BNO055 offers the best balance of price and performance. The internal processing saves a ton of CPU cycles on my flight controller.

Exceeded expectations

Solid for prototyping
We used this for a quick prototype of a handheld scanner. It performed well under normal conditions. Just ensure you mount it rigidly to avoid vibration noise affecting the gyro.

Beginner friendly

Great accuracy, minor documentation gaps
The sensor itself is fantastic and very accurate for tilt and heading. I deducted one star because the wiki page could use more examples for Python users, but the community forums helped me figure it out.
Q: What libraries are supported for this sensor?
A: DFRobot provides official libraries for Arduino and Python. There are also many community-supported libraries available for PlatformIO and other environments.
Q: Does this module come with a header pin soldered?
A: No, the module typically comes with unsoldered header pins to allow for flexible mounting options. You will need to solder them yourself.
Q: Is this compatible with 5V logic levels?
A: Yes, the board includes a voltage regulator and level shifter, making it safe to use with both 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers like the Arduino Uno.
Q: How long does the calibration process take?
A: Calibration time varies based on movement, but typically takes between 10 to 30 seconds of moving the sensor in a figure-8 pattern. The status register indicates when calibration is complete.
