Great value, heavy unit
The filtration performance is excellent for the price point. It handles the circulation very well. Only giving 4 stars because the tank is extremely heavy even before adding sand, so make sure you have help moving it into position.

Perfect replacement

Quiet operation
I was worried about noise since the pump is mounted close to the patio, but this AQUA system runs surprisingly quiet. The multi-port valve works smoothly, and backwashing is easy. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Solid performer
Does exactly what it says. Circulation is strong and the sand tank holds plenty of media. Instructions could be slightly more detailed regarding sand loading amounts, but overall a solid piece of equipment.

Best upgrade for our pool
We upgraded from a cartridge filter to this sand system and the difference in maintenance is huge. No more cleaning cartridges every week. Just backwash occasionally and enjoy the clean water. Worth every penny.

A: Backwashing frequency depends on usage and debris levels. Generally, you should backwash when the pressure gauge reads 8-10 PSI higher than the clean starting pressure.
Q: Does this unit come filled with quartz sand?
A: No, the filter tank is shipped empty. You will need to purchase approximately 300 lbs of #20 silica sand separately to fill the tank before operation.
