Great quality, requires patience
The materials are top-notch, especially the solid wood which feels very sturdy. Assembling the inner frame took some time to get the corners flush, but the result was worth the effort. The silk surface accepts ink beautifully.

Superior to synthetic alternatives
There is a noticeable difference when painting on real stretched silk compared to paper or synthetic canvases. These Yida frames provide a professional base that elevates the final artwork significantly.
Q: Are these frames suitable for oil painting or just water-based inks?
A: These frames with stretched silk are specifically designed for traditional Chinese meticulous paintings using water-based inks and pigments. They are not recommended for heavy oil paints which may damage the silk fibers.
Q: Is the silk pre-stretched on the frame or do I need to stretch it myself?
A: The product includes high-grade silk fabric and the wooden strips separately. You will need to stretch and attach the silk to the assembled frame using the included mounting pins for optimal tension.
