Good value for specialized needs
If you need basic recording, this might be overkill. But for anyone needing to automate hang-ups or detect line states programmatically, this is the best option available.

Reliable for high-volume recording
We have deployed ten of these units across our office. They handle continuous recording without dropping calls or overheating. The software hook feature is a game changer.

Great hardware, documentation could be better
The soft hook control is very responsive and the audio quality is crisp. I deducted one star because the API examples in the dev kit were a bit sparse, but support helped me out.

Clean audio signal
The signal-to-noise ratio is impressive for a device in this price range. No static or interference even when connected to long telephone lines.

Perfect for custom call center solutions
The secondary development kit made integrating this into our proprietary CRM seamless. The polarity reversal detection works flawlessly with our legacy PBX system.

Excellent Linux compatibility
Rare to find telephony hardware that plays nice with Linux out of the box. Drivers installed easily and the polarity detection triggers our logging scripts perfectly.
Q: Is there a limit to how many hours I can record continuously?
A: The device itself has no internal time limit; recording duration depends entirely on the storage capacity of the connected computer and the file system limits.
Q: What programming languages are supported in the Secondary Development Kit?
A: The SDK includes libraries and examples for C++, C#, Python, and Java. We also provide DLLs for easy integration with .NET environments.
Q: Can the soft hook feature disconnect an incoming call automatically?
A: Yes, the software can trigger the hook to go on-hook to reject or disconnect a call based on your custom logic, such as time of day or caller ID filtering.
Q: How does the polarity reversal detection help in practical applications?
A: Polarity reversal typically indicates when a call is answered or disconnected by the remote party. This allows your software to start/stop recording precisely without relying on voice activation.
Q: Does this device work with VoIP lines or only analog PSTN?
A: The IP1-F is designed specifically for analog PSTN lines connected via RJ11. It is not compatible with direct VoIP digital streams without an analog telephone adapter (ATA).
