Solid hardware, basic software
The device does exactly what it says on the tin. The included software is functional but looks a bit dated. Since I'm using the API to build my own dashboard, the UI doesn't matter much to me. If you need a turnkey solution with a modern interface, you might want to look elsewhere, but for raw functionality, it's great.

Perfect for our small office logging needs
We needed a simple way to log incoming calls without a complex PBX system. This Zipei box works flawlessly with our existing analog lines. The pop-up screen is a nice touch for immediate identification, and the recording quality is clear enough for our records.

Reliable call collector for monitoring
We deployed five of these units for our quality assurance team. They consistently capture both sides of the conversation without dropouts. The ability to export recordings in WAV format makes it easy to archive them in our central database. Excellent value for the price.

Easy setup and clear audio
I run a consulting business from home and need to keep track of client calls. Installation was plug-and-play on Windows 10. The software interface is intuitive, and I can easily search through past calls by number or date. Highly recommended for solo entrepreneurs.

Great SDK for custom integration
Bought this specifically for the secondary development capabilities. The SDK documentation is decent, though it took some time to get the C# wrapper working correctly. Once integrated, it handles call events very reliably. Deducting one star only because the sample code could be more extensive.

Works well but driver issues on Win 11
The hardware itself seems solid and the call passing feature works as advertised. However, I had some trouble getting the drivers to stabilize on a fresh Windows 11 install. After contacting support and updating to their beta driver, it has been stable. Just be prepared for potential tweaking.
Q: Can I record multiple lines simultaneously with one unit?
A: No, each Zipei Caller ID Box handles a single telephone line. To record multiple lines simultaneously, you will need to purchase and connect one unit for each active line you wish to monitor.
Q: Does this device work with VoIP lines or only traditional analog phone lines?
A: This device is designed specifically for traditional analog telephone lines (PSTN). It does not directly interface with pure VoIP streams; you would need an ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter) to convert the VoIP signal to analog before connecting to this box.
Q: What is the maximum storage capacity for recorded calls?
A: The device itself does not store recordings internally; it streams data directly to your computer. Therefore, the storage capacity is limited only by the available hard drive space on the connected PC.
Q: Is the SDK compatible with Python or only C++ and C#?
