Perfect response for classical playing

Consistent and reliable
This is my third V5 mouthpiece over the years. They are always consistent in quality. The S15 is perfect for my smaller embouchure setup.

Great quality but needs break-in
Excellent craftsmanship as expected from Vandoren. The hard rubber feels durable. It took a few days of playing to open up fully, but now it sounds fantastic.

While marketed often for classical, the S35 has enough edge for light jazz work. Very comfortable to play for long rehearsals.

Q: How should I clean this hard rubber mouthpiece?
A: Use lukewarm water and mild soap with a soft swab or cloth. Avoid hot water or harsh chemicals, as extreme temperatures can warp the hard rubber material.
Q: Does this come with a ligature?
A: No, the Vandoren V5 mouthpiece is sold individually without a ligature. You will need to purchase a compatible soprano saxophone ligature separately.
Q: What is the difference between the S15, S25, and S35 tips?
A: The number indicates the tip opening size. S15 is the most closed, offering more resistance and a darker sound, while S35 is more open, providing a louder volume and brighter tone with less resistance.
Q: Can I use this on a C soprano saxophone?
A: No, this mouthpiece is specifically designed for Bb soprano saxophones. The bore and facing are not compatible with C soprano instruments.
