Easy install, huge sound difference
Swapped this into my Strat copy and it sounds like a completely different instrument now. The active circuit provides plenty of headroom. Highly recommended for DIYers.

Perfect for jazz fusion tones
I needed something to get that active growl without spending a fortune. This kit delivers exactly that. The mid-control is especially useful for cutting through the mix.

Solid components
Everything arrived well-packaged. The soldering points on the preamp board are clean. It works perfectly with my 9V battery setup. Just wish it came with a battery clip.

Great upgrade for my bass
This preamp kit transformed the sound of my old bass. The 3-band EQ is very responsive, and the JB pickup adds a nice punch to the low end. Installation took about an hour.

Good value but instructions could be better
The components feel high quality and the sound is excellent once installed. However, the wiring diagram was a bit faint. I had to look up a generic guide online to finish the job.

Potentiometers feel a bit stiff
Sound-wise, it's great. But the pots were very hard to turn out of the box. After using them for a week, they loosened up a bit. Good product overall for the price.
