Studio quality tone
I installed these on my Ibanez RG and the difference was night and day. The note separation is fantastic for complex chords, and they record beautifully. Highly recommended for session work.

Great for lead playing
Excellent sustain and very responsive to picking dynamics. They are a bit hotter than my previous set, so I had to adjust my amp settings slightly, but the tone is worth the tweak.

The definitive high-gain sound
These pickups are absolutely incredible. The bridge pickup cuts through any mix with clarity even under heavy distortion, while the neck position remains warm without getting muddy. Perfect for modern rock styles.

Solid upgrade for stock pickups
Replaced the stock humbuckers in my budget guitar and it now sounds like an instrument twice the price. Only giving 4 stars because they are quite sensitive to finger noise, but that's typical for high-output pups.

Versatile beyond expectations
While known for metal, the neck pickup cleans up surprisingly well when you roll back the volume. It offers a smooth, singing tone that works great for fusion solos too.

Easy installation and consistent quality
As someone who installs pickups regularly, DiMarzio never disappoints. The wiring is straightforward, the fitment is perfect for F-spaced bridges, and the output balance between neck and bridge is spot on.
Q: Can I use just the bridge pickup if I only want to replace one?
A: Absolutely. While they are voiced to work together as a set, the bridge pickup (DP268F) functions excellently on its own if you are mixing and matching with other brands.
Q: Are these pickups suitable for a Stratocaster with a tremolo bridge?
A: Yes, the 'F' in the model number stands for F-spaced, which is designed specifically for tremolo bridges like those found on Stratocasters and Ibanez RGs.
Q: What is the difference between the DP266 and the DP268?
A: The DP266 is the neck position pickup, optimized for warmth and clarity, while the DP268 is the bridge position pickup, designed for higher output and tighter low-end response. This listing includes both.
Q: Do these require a battery to operate?
A: No, the DP266F/268F Evolution set is completely passive. They do not require a 9V battery or any external power source.
Q: Is the cover removable for custom painting?
A: The covers are attached with wax and solder. While technically removable by a professional technician, we recommend keeping them intact to preserve the warranty and prevent microphonic feedback issues.
