Great gift for calligraphy lovers

Elegant and functional
The finish is smooth and the lid slides on nicely. It adds a traditional touch to my study room. Cleaning it is also very easy since the surface is non-porous enough to wipe clean.

Beautiful stone, slightly heavy
This is a gorgeous piece of craftsmanship. The natural veins in the stone are unique. It is quite heavy, which is good for stability, but make sure you have a sturdy table for it.

Good moisture retention
The main reason I bought this was the non-drying feature. It works very well; I can leave a small amount of ink in the pool and use it the next morning without adding water immediately.
