Authentic Tianjin quality
As someone who has grown gourds for years, these are high-quality seeds. The distinction between the eight treasure sizes is clear as they mature.

Perfect for my miniature garden
These seeds germinated quickly and the variety in sizes is exactly what I needed for my bonsai project. The long beak varieties are particularly striking.

Excellent diversity in one pack
Love that I get both giant and tiny varieties in one purchase. The short beak types are perfect for painting detailed designs on.

Adorable extra small varieties
The extra small seeds produced the cutest little gourds I've ever seen. They look amazing hanging on the vine. Will definitely buy again next season.

Great for hand-rolling crafts
I bought these specifically for making traditional gourds for art projects. The shell thickness is ideal. One pack had a few duds, but overall very satisfied.

Good but needs patience
The plants grew well, but it took longer than expected to see the unique beak shapes form. Make sure you have a long growing season.
Q: What is the best time of year to plant these?
A: It is best to plant these seeds after the last frost date in your area, typically in late spring when soil temperatures reach at least 65°F (18°C).
Q: How do I save seeds from the harvest for next year?
A: Allow the gourds to fully dry on the vine until the skin is hard and brown. Cut them open, remove the seeds, clean off any pulp, and let them air dry completely before storing in a cool, dry place.
Q: Are the gourds edible when young?
A: While some gourd varieties are edible when very young, these specific Tianjin Beak varieties are primarily cultivated for ornamental and craft purposes. We recommend checking specific culinary guides before consumption.
Q: Can these seeds be grown indoors in pots?
A: Yes, especially the smaller 'Eight Treasures' varieties are well-suited for container gardening and bonsai styles indoors if they receive enough sunlight.
Q: Do the long beak and short beak plants need different care?
A: No, both varieties share similar care requirements regarding sunlight, water, and soil. The main difference is the space the vines may occupy as the fruit develops.
