Perfect for my gourd collection
This kit made polishing my dried gourds so much easier. The sponge conforms perfectly to the curves, and the progression of grits leaves a beautiful shine without scratching.

Good variety of textures
The kit covers all the stages of polishing I need. The only reason for 4 stars is that I wish it came with a few extra replacement sheets for the coarsest grit, as I go through them faster.

Easy to use for beginners
As someone new to polishing handmade items, this kit is intuitive. The color coding helps me know which step I am on, and the results on my small wooden figurines are fantastic.

Great value, minor dust issue
The tools work exactly as described for my Bodhi beads. Just make sure to work in a well-ventilated area as fine dust can accumulate. Overall very satisfied with the finish.

Smooth results every time
I was skeptical about the lower grit sponges, but they remove imperfections quickly. The higher grits bring out a natural luster that looks professional. Very happy with this purchase.

Essential for Wenwan hobbyists
I use this daily for my walnut shells and olive pits. The double-sided board is sturdy, and the sandpaper adheres well to the sponges. Highly recommended for beginners and pros alike.
Q: Do I need to apply any oil or wax while using this kit?
A: No, this is a dry polishing system. You should complete all sanding and polishing steps first. Oil or wax can be applied as a final finishing step after you have achieved the desired smoothness.
Q: What is the difference between the two sides of the board?
A: The double-sided board features different foam densities. One side is firmer for flat surfaces or heavy material removal, while the other is softer to conform to irregular curves and delicate details.
Q: Is this suitable for large pumpkins or just small decorative gourds?
A: This kit is optimized for handheld items like Bodhi beads, small gourds, and nuts. For very large pumpkins, the sponge size might be too small for efficient coverage, though it will still work.
Q: Can these sponges be washed and reused?
A: While the plastic board can be wiped clean, the sponge blocks are designed for dry polishing. Washing them may reduce their structural integrity and abrasive effectiveness. We recommend replacing them when worn.
Q: How long does one set of sandpaper sheets typically last?
A: Lifespan depends on usage frequency and the hardness of the material being polished. For average hobby use on Bodhi beads, a set can last several months. Heavy daily use may require monthly replacements.
