Excellent quality seeds
I have grown many types of gourds, and these Zhongbao seeds are top-tier. The 'Eight Treasures' variety produces very symmetrical fruits. Highly recommended for serious collectors.

Beautiful ornamental plants
Even if you don't use them for wine, these make amazing decorative pieces. The three sections give them a unique look compared to standard bottle gourds. Very happy with this purchase.

Great shape, needs patience
The narrow-waist feature is exactly as described. It takes a full season to get them to the extra-large size, but the results are worth the wait. One plant didn't make it, but the other five are thriving.

Perfect for crafting wine gourds
These seeds germinated quickly and the vines are very vigorous. The three-section shape is distinct even while growing. I can't wait to harvest and cure them for making traditional wine containers.

Authentic Zhongbao variety
Finally found authentic medium chubby gourd seeds that actually produce the narrow waist. Great for drying and hollowing out. The shell thickness is perfect for carving.

Good but space intensive
The seeds grew well, but be warned: these vines get huge. They took over my entire trellis. The gourds themselves are nice, but I underestimated the space needed for 'extra-large' varieties.

A: While they prefer ground planting for maximum size, they can be grown in very large containers (at least 15-20 gallons) if provided with a sturdy trellis and consistent watering.

A: Depending on humidity and airflow, it typically takes 2 to 4 months for the gourds to fully cure and dry out before they can be hollowed and used.
