Perfect for my balcony garden
These seeds germinated quickly and the vines are growing beautifully in my large pot. The leaves are a vibrant dark green, exactly as described. Can't wait to see the tiny gourds form.

Great for decorative purposes
I bought these specifically for the 'Eight Treasures' cultural aspect. The plants are healthy, though they need a good trellis even for small varieties. Very charming little fruits.

Beautiful jade color
The description says 'Dark Green Jade' and it lives up to the name. The foliage is glossy and attractive even before the fruit appears. A great addition to my ornamental collection.

Cute but needs space
The gourds are indeed extra small and cute, but the vine spread was wider than I expected for a container plant. Make sure you have a wide pot or a strong support system.

High germination rate
Out of 20 seeds, 18 sprouted within a week. That is an excellent success rate. The seedlings are sturdy and transplant well. Highly recommend for beginners.

Easy to grow
As someone new to growing gourds, I found these very forgiving. They bounced back after a heavy rain storm. The only reason for 4 stars is shipping took a bit long, but the seeds were fresh.
Q: Do I need to hand-pollinate the flowers?
A: If you are growing them outdoors with active bees, natural pollination usually occurs. However, for container plants on covered patios or indoors, hand-pollination using a small brush can significantly increase fruit set.
Q: What size pot do you recommend?
A: For best results, use a pot that is at least 12 inches in diameter and depth. Since they are vining plants, ensure you have a trellis or stake ready for them to climb.
Q: Are the gourds edible?
A: This specific 'Eight Treasures' variety is primarily grown for ornamental and cultural craft purposes. While some gourd varieties are edible when young, we cannot guarantee the edibility or flavor profile of this specific heritage strain.
