Perfect for my daughter's first flute

We bought this for our 12-year-old who just started band. The tone is beautiful and warm, much better than the rental we had before. It feels sturdy and the keys are very responsive. Highly recommend for beginners.

Solid student model

Very good flute for the price point. The closed holes make it easier for beginners to get a seal. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the headjoint could be slightly more flexible, but that's being picky.

Reliable and consistent

Excellent build quality

As a music teacher, I recommend the YFL-222 to almost all my students. Yamaha's consistency is unmatched. The offset G key makes it comfortable for smaller hands, and the intonation is spot on right out of the box.

Upgrade worth every penny

Great sound, heavy case

The flute itself plays wonderfully with a rich tone across all registers. My only minor complaint is that the hard case is a bit bulky and heavy for a middle schooler to carry around all day. Otherwise, fantastic instrument.
