Great value for offshore gear
For the price point, the features you get are amazing. The anti-reverse switch is crisp, and the line lay is very even. Took one star off because the handle knob could be slightly more ergonomic.

Smooth operation under load
Used this off the coast for tuna fishing. The BL50 drag system is incredibly smooth even when fully tightened. No jerking or slipping, just consistent pressure.

Solid build, slightly heavy
The construction quality is top-notch, feeling very much like the Iron Bull name suggests. It is a bit heavier than my previous reel, but the drag strength makes up for it during long battles.

Perfect match for the MPX45
If you own the Rampart MPX45 rod, this is the reel to get. The balance is perfect, and the large gear ratio helps retrieve line quickly after a cast.

Absolute beast for big game fishing
I paired this Black King 25 with my Rampart rod and it handled a 40lb grouper without breaking a sweat. The J39 large gear provides incredible cranking power when you need to pull fish out of structure.

A: This model is optimized for braided lines between 50-80lb test or monofilament in the 0.40mm range for maximum casting distance and drag performance.

A: For regular saltwater use, we recommend a light external rinse after every trip and a full internal lubrication service every 6 months or 50 trips.
Q: Can I use this for freshwater pike fishing?
A: Absolutely. While designed for heavy-duty saltwater use, its robust drag and large gear make it excellent for targeting large freshwater species like pike or muskie.
