Great for beginners
I am new to embedded systems and this board was easy to get started with. Plenty of tutorials online. The camera focus is adjustable which is a nice touch.

Camera focus ring was loose
The board functions well, but the focus ring on my camera module was a bit loose and kept shifting. I had to glue it in place. Functionality is otherwise fine.

Good value but needs stable power
The module is great, but make sure you use a good 5V power supply. It tends to reboot if the power is unstable during Wi-Fi connection. Otherwise, very happy with the purchase.

Excellent development board
I've tried several ESP32-CAM variants, and this MB version is much easier to program because of the built-in serial interface. No need for external FTDI programmers.

Perfect for IoT projects
This board works exactly as described. I used it for a home security camera project and the video quality is decent for the price. Setup with Arduino IDE was straightforward.
Q: Does it work with Home Assistant?
A: Yes, many users successfully integrate this board with Home Assistant using ESPHome or native ESP32 camera components.
Q: Can I power this via GPIO pins instead of USB?
A: Yes, you can supply 5V to the 5V and GND pins, but ensure the power source is stable to prevent boot loops.
Q: What is the maximum video resolution?
A: The OV2640 sensor supports up to UXGA (1600x1200) resolution, though streaming quality depends on your Wi-Fi bandwidth.
Q: Is the camera lens replaceable?
A: The camera module is connected via a ribbon cable. While technically replaceable, we recommend using the included OV2640 for best compatibility.
Q: Does this board support SD card storage?
A: Yes, there is a microSD card slot on the board that supports FAT32 formatted cards up to 4GB for local storage.
