Reliable replacement part
My old block was stripped, and this was a direct replacement. Kingroon parts are always consistent. Highly recommend for anyone maintaining older Makerbot style printers.

Excellent thermal conductivity
Noticed faster heat-up times compared to my worn-out original block. The aluminum seems high quality and the price is unbeatable for a single component.

Solid construction
The machining is clean and the holes align perfectly with standard hotend components. Deducting one star only because shipping took a bit longer than expected, but the product itself is great.

Good value, minor cleaning needed
Works well overall. Had to clean out some machining residue from the thermistor hole before inserting the sensor, but once installed, it heats evenly and maintains temperature well.

Perfect fit for my upgrade
This heating block fits perfectly on my MK8 setup. The aluminum quality feels solid and the threading is precise. No leaks or alignment issues during installation.
Q: How do I install the thermistor correctly?
A: Insert the thermistor into the 3mm hole and secure it with a small amount of high-temperature thermal paste to ensure accurate readings, then tighten the set screw gently.
Q: Is this compatible with E3D V6 hotends?
A: No, this block is specifically designed for Makerbot MK7 and MK8 style print heads. The dimensions and threading differ from the E3D V6 system.
Q: Does this come with screws or a nozzle?
A: This listing is for the heating block only. Nozzles, screws, heater cartridges, or thermisters are sold separately unless specified in a bundle kit.
Q: Can I use this with a 12V heater cartridge?
A: Yes, the block itself is passive and works with any voltage heater cartridge (12V or 24V) as long as the cartridge diameter is 4mm.
Q: What is the maximum temperature this block can handle?
A: The aluminum alloy used can easily withstand standard 3D printing temperatures up to 300°C, which covers PLA, ABS, PETG, and Nylon filaments.
