Great for storytelling sessions
I use this for traditional storytelling events. The 8-inch size is manageable, and the sound carries well in small to medium halls. It took a day to fully settle after unpacking, but now it sounds wonderful.

Perfect replacement for my old drum

A: Yes, the drumhead is replaceable. However, due to the traditional gluing method used for optimal sound, we recommend having it done by a professional instrument repair technician.

A: Like all natural skin drums, it can be affected by extreme humidity or dryness. We recommend storing it in a moderate environment and allowing it to acclimate before playing if moved between climates.
Q: Is this suitable for beginners learning Peking Opera percussion?
A: Absolutely. While it is professional grade, its responsive nature helps beginners learn proper striking technique and hear immediate feedback on their rhythm.
Q: What kind of sticks or beaters do you recommend for this drum?
A: Traditional bamboo sticks are typically used for Jing Ban drums to achieve the characteristic crisp sound. Standard drumsticks may produce a duller tone.
