Exceptional Tone for Professional Use

Solid Professional Instrument
Very satisfied with the build quality. The mallets included are decent, though I eventually swapped them for my custom pair. The instrument itself is robust and produces a balanced sound across all octaves. Good investment.

Great Value, Minor Setup Needed
The instrument sounds fantastic once properly tuned. It required a bit of adjustment on the bridges upon arrival, which is normal for shipping, but the potential is clearly there. The case is sturdy and protected it well during transit.

Stunning Visuals and Sound

Perfect Upgrade from Student Model
Upgraded from a basic model and the difference is night and day. The sustain is longer, and the higher registers are crisp without being harsh. It handles complex orchestral pieces with ease. Very happy with this purchase.
Q: What is the difference between the 402 and the 401 model?
A: The 402 model features an extended range with additional bass strings and uses higher-grade rosewood for improved resonance. It is specifically designed for professional stage performances and conservatory-level examinations, whereas the 401 is geared towards intermediate students.
Q: How do I maintain the rosewood finish to prevent cracking?
A: To maintain the rosewood, avoid exposing the instrument to extreme dryness or direct sunlight. We recommend using a humidifier in the storage room during winter months and wiping the surface with a soft, dry cloth after each use to remove oils and dust.
Q: Can I replace the strings if one breaks, and are spares available?
A: Absolutely. The strings are standard steel yangqin strings. We sell replacement string sets separately in our store. The bridge design allows for easy string replacement without specialized tools beyond the tuning wrench.
Q: Does this instrument come pre-tuned, or do I need to tune it myself?
A: The instrument is tuned at the factory before shipping, but due to temperature and humidity changes during transit, we recommend a final fine-tuning upon arrival using the included wrench. Detailed instructions are provided in the manual.
Q: Is the hard case included suitable for air travel?
A: Yes, the included hard shell case is designed to meet standard checked baggage requirements and features reinforced corners and interior padding to protect the instrument during air travel. We still recommend labeling it as 'Fragile'.
