Reliable but wiring could be clearer

The sensor works great now, but the terminal labeling on the device itself is a bit small. Had to use a magnifier to ensure correct wiring. Performance since then has been flawless.

Solid industrial sensor

Good build quality and the DIN-rail clip is very secure. Setup required some tweaking of the baud rate settings, but once configured, it has been running without issues for two months.

Q: Does this sensor support multiple drop connections on the same RS485 bus?

A: Yes, the device supports multi-drop networking. You can connect up to 32 devices on the same bus, provided each has a unique Modbus address configured.

Q: What is the default baud rate out of the box?

A: The default factory settings are 9600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, and 1 stop bit (9600-8-N-1). These can be changed via software commands if your system requires different settings.

Q: How do I reset the device if I forget the Modbus address?

A: There is a hardware reset procedure involving holding the configuration button while powering up the unit. Please refer to page 12 of the user manual for the specific LED blink sequence instructions.

Q: Can I power this with a standard 24V AC supply?

A: No, this module requires a DC power supply between 12V and 24V. Connecting it to an AC source may damage the internal electronics. Please ensure you use a rectified DC source.

Q: Is the housing rated for outdoor use or high humidity environments?

A: While the sensor measures up to 100% RH, the housing is designed for indoor industrial use like server rooms or cabinets. It is not IP67 rated for direct exposure to rain or submersion.
