Good quality, slightly stiff jacket
The electrical performance is excellent for signal integrity. The only minor downside is that the outer PVC jacket is a bit stiff, making it slightly harder to route in tight conduit spaces compared to softer alternatives.

Great value for money

Perfect for industrial automation projects
Used this cable for a long-run RS-485 connection between our PLC and sensors. The shielding is robust and effectively eliminated noise interference. The twisted pair geometry is consistent throughout the spool.

Solid construction
The foil shield coverage looks complete when inspected. Conductor stranding is fine and flexible. Would give 5 stars if the labeling on the cable jacket was printed more frequently along the length.
Q: Is the drain wire tinned as well?
A: Yes, the aluminum foil shield includes a tinned copper drain wire to facilitate easy grounding and termination at the connector or ground bus.
Q: Is this cable suitable for outdoor direct burial installation?
A: This standard RVSP cable is designed for indoor use or protected conduits. For direct burial or prolonged UV exposure, we recommend using a version with a black PE (Polyethylene) jacket or running it inside a waterproof conduit.
Q: Can I use this cable for 24V DC power supply as well as data signals?
A: While the cable can technically carry 24V DC, it is optimized for low-voltage signal transmission. For combined power and data, ensure the current draw does not exceed the ampacity rating of the specific wire gauge you select to avoid voltage drop.
Q: What is the maximum recommended distance for RS-485 communication using this cable?
A: RS-485 can theoretically support up to 1200 meters at lower baud rates. With this high-quality twisted shielded cable, you can achieve reliable communication up to that limit, provided proper termination resistors are used.
