Great prop, minor edge imperfections
Used these for a period film set. They look fantastic on camera under lighting. One coin had a slightly uneven reeded edge, but it didn't affect the overall look. Would buy again.

Perfect for my museum display case
The distressing on this replica looks incredibly authentic. It fits perfectly alongside my other historical props without looking too shiny or new. Great weight and feel in the hand.

Unique gift for history lovers
My father loves anything related to early American history. He was thrilled with the detail on this piece. The velvet pouch was a nice touch for gifting.

Good educational tool
I use this in my history class to show students what currency looked like in the early 19th century. It's durable enough to be passed around the classroom safely.

Excellent craftsmanship for a replica
As a collector, I appreciate that this is clearly marked as a replica by its weight and sound, but the visual detail on the 1813 design is impressive. The artificial aging is done tastefully.
Q: Does the distressing wear off over time?
A: The distressed finish is applied during the manufacturing process to simulate age. While heavy abrasion may affect the patina over many years, normal handling will not remove the effect quickly.
Q: Can this be used as legal tender?
A: Absolutely not. This item is strictly a collectible prop and imitation craft. It has no monetary value and cannot be used as currency.
Q: Is the velvet pouch included with every order?
A: Yes, each Handcrafted Retro Distressed Alloy Replica comes individually packaged in a protective velvet pouch as shown in the product images.
Q: What are the exact dimensions?
A: The replica measures 38.1 mm in diameter, which is consistent with the size of a standard US silver dollar, and weighs approximately 22.5 grams.
Q: Is this made of real silver?
A: No, this is a handcrafted replica made from a distressed zinc alloy with a brass and silver-tone finish. It contains no precious metals.
